Morning Manna :)

Went in Rich , Came out POOR?...

"Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other. And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar." (Genesis 13:10,11)

Lot Went in Rich; Came Out With Nothing

Lot chose a land which was beautiful in situation, which promised great returns (the well-watered plains of Jordan). Lot went in rich, and came forth with nothing as a result of his choice. It makes every difference whether men place themselves in positions where they will have the very best help of correct influences, or whether they choose temporal advantages. There are many ways which lead to Sodom. We all need anointed eyesight, that we may discern the way that leads to God.

Lot Was Convinced of Mistake

Lot chose Sodom for his home because he saw advantages to be gained there from a WORLDLY point of view. But after he had established himself, and grown rich in earthly treasure, he was convinced that he has made a mistake in not taking into consideration the moral standing of the community in which he was to make his home.

If you were to be completely honest with yourself, have you ever gone through one of these 'Lot moments' when you would completely invest in something that seemed totally prosperous, but then it turned out to be just a waste of time? For me, yes. I would have allowed it to consume all my energies and time, not really stopping to truly examine if what I was doing was either biblical or glorifying to God, or even how REALLY would it benefit me in the long run. All my fleshy eyes saw was an opportunity to be successful or simply 'get what I want'. Naturally, these situations always ended in failure, to my advantage. Who knows what the true outcome would have been like, had not the LORD taken those things out of my life.

I guess this was why the wisest man that ever lived said, "Trust in the LORD with ALL thine heart; and lean not unto thine OWN understanding. In ALL thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths."(Proverbs 3:5,6)Let's learn to trust God, prayerfully before we wreck ourselves. God bless! :)

Guardian Angels??....Really??...

“The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear Him, and delivereth them.” Psalm 34:7

Angels are sent on missions of mercy to the children of God. To Abraham, with promises of blessing; to the gates of Sodom, to rescue righteous Lot from its fiery doom; to Elijah, as he was about to perish from weariness and hunger in the desert; to Elisha, with chariots and horses of fire surrounding the little town where he was shut in by his foes; to Daniel, while seeking divine wisdom in the court of a heathen king, or abandoned to become the lions’ prey; to Peter, doomed to death in Herod’s dungeon; to the prisoners at Philippi; to Paul and his companions in the night of tempest on the sea; to open the mind of Cornelius to receive the gospel; to dispatch Peter with the message of salvation to the Gentile stranger—thus holy angels have, in all ages, ministered to God’s people.

Always remember you're being taken care of :)
A guardian angel is appointed to EVERY follower of Christ. These heavenly watchers shield the righteous from the power of the wicked one. This Satan himself recognized when he said: “Doth Job fear God for nought? Hast not Thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side?” Job 1:9,10. The agency by which God protects His people is presented in the words of the psalmist: “The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear Him, and delivereth them.” Psalm 34:7. Said the Saviour, speaking of those that believe in Him: “Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of My Father.” Matthew 18:10. The angels appointed to minister to the children of God have at all times access to His presence.

"Fear thou not, for I am WITH you. Be not dismayed for I am thy God: I will STRENGTHEN thee, yes, I will HELP you, yes, I will UPHOLD you with the right hand of my righteousness" ~ Isaiah 41:10,kjv

"I Love You...I Love You...I Love You." ~ God

"And the LORD appeared unto him (Isaac) and said, Go not down into Egypt; dweel in the land which I shall tell thee of." ~ Genesis 26:2,kjv

In chapter 26 of Genesis, we read of Isaac's time in Egypt when, out of fear, he told Abimelech, king of the Philistines that his wife, Rebekah, was his sister. Eventually, they found out she was indeed his wife, but instead of leaving and obeying like what God has instructed him to do, Isaac remained in Egypt a little while and attempted to settle down. Verses 12 and 13, says that Isaac sowed in Egypt and was blessed hundredfold by the Lord, but the Philistines saw his success and envied him. Eventually, Abimelech demanded that Isaac left...seems somewhat harsh doesn't it? But, upon reading it, I realized that it was indeed a greater blessing than what Isaac would have then realized. Later on, we see in the chapter that Isaac and his family, moved out of the city of Gerar and into the valleys, where he prospered again and did live well.

What a major life lesson for us! Most often times, we are led to believe that true security, whether it be financial or social security is in the things of this world. Egypt is symbolic of this worldly system. In the book of Exodus, the Lord delivered the Israelites out of Egypt because of it's heathen practises and idolatrous lifestyles. Likewise, when we turn to 'Egypt' (this world) for security, God is not happy. He desires that we live outside of Egypt. He didn't want Isaac to eat their food, use their resources or be part of their social life. Likewise, God does not want us to eat the way the world eats, drink the way the world drinks, socialize the way the world socializes and live the way the world lives.

"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light..." ~ 1 Peter 2:9,kjv
God has called us to be set apart from this world. He tells us that if any man loves this world, then His love is not in us. What might we do that His love be in us? He tells us plainly in James 4: 7&8, "Submit yourselves therefore unto God. Resist the devil and he will FLEE from you. Draw nigh unto God and He will draw nigh unto you..."

I know it is not easy, but this is why He tells us to submit. Don't look at it as some demanding or bossy instruction, because it simply means that He would do it for you once you allow Him to. God is motivated by His love for us and He always knows what is best for us. Only if we but trust and obey Him, what a much better quality of life would we have.
It's my prayer that we submit  our weaknesses to the Lord today and leave Egypt behind. Pray for me as I pray for you!!

PEACE n' LOVE!! :)

~ Sarah
